Last summer, on my nonstop red eye to Las Vegas for an Esthetician’s Conference, I found myself feeling surprisingly energetic. I felt like I could make it through another 18 hours, and had no worries about the busy day ahead of me: 8 hours of a class and multiple meetings with vendors.

After the long flight, I finally made it my hotel room, had breakfast, and immediately crashed in my comfy bed.  “I’ll just take a quick, hour- long nap…” I told myself. After walking one mile to the exhibit hall from my hotel in 95 degree weather, I felt like I had melted… The second mile from the registration desk to the classroom drained any energy I had left.
